Miss Universe Beauty Pageant 2009, will be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009.Miss Universe 2008, Dayana Mendoza from Venezuela, will crown her successor at the end of this event. 84 countries and territories will compete for the title. The presentation show, rehearsals, dress rehearsal and the grand final will take place at Imperial Ballroom, in the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort. This coronation night will be hosted by Billy Bush and Claudia Jordan.



The preliminary judges are: Steven Schillaci - Talent Producer for many hit shows including American Idol. Mark Wylie - Best Buddies Talent Executive. David Friedman - Last Call with Carson Daly Executive Producer. Corinne Nicolas - Trump Model Management President. Mario Mosley - Hollywood Choreographer of Oxygen’s Dance Your Ass Off. Tiza Tjokroadisumarto - Director of Retail Operations, Michael Kors (USA).


At the Preliminary Competition, all contestants will compete in the Swimsuit and Evening Gown categories as part of the selection of the top 15 finalists who will be revealed during the beginning of the two-hour live telecast of the 2009 Miss Universe PageantThe Preliminary Competition will be hosted by Miss Universe 2008, Dayana Mendoza and Local Bahamas radio personality Ed Fields. London based singer Anthoney Wright will be performing his hit song "Wud if I Cud" during the competitionThe technology provided by Ustream and NewTek will ensure that viewers receive the highest quality live streaming content and that the pageant reaches an unprecedented mass audience.This is the first time that the Miss Universe preliminary competition will be streamed online to a worldwide audience.
